Buckinghamshire Local Plan and Planning
What is the Local Plan? Buckinghamshire Council is preparing a new Local Plan which will set out the long-term planning strategy for the area. It will guide decisions on where new homes, employment, infrastructure and other development should take place. The Local Plan is important to Taplow because it will influence future development in and around the parish.
What does this mean for Taplow? Taplow Parish Council has been closely monitoring the preparation of the Local Plan and has responded to consultations where appropriate. The latest draft Local Plan has been published and the consultation period has now closed. Taplow Parish Council submitted its own response, highlighting matters that are particularly important to our parish. SBALC also submitted a comprehensive response. One positive aspect of the current draft is that no specific housing allocation has been imposed on Taplow. However, the Parish Council has concerns about aspects of the draft plan and believes that some important matters require further consideration. The Council will continue to monitor the Local Plan as it progresses.
What happens next? The Parish Council will continue to follow developments and will keep residents informed of any significant changes or further consultations. The Local Plan process is separate from individual planning applications. Even where a site does not have a specific housing allocation, developers may still submit planning applications. The Parish Council will continue to consider such applications carefully and will make representations to Buckinghamshire Council where appropriate. Residents are encouraged to take an interest in planning proposals affecting Taplow and to submit their own comments where they feel a development may affect the parish.
Where can I find planning applications? Current planning applications can be viewed on the Buckinghamshire Council Planning Portal.
Taplow Parish Council also publishes information about significant planning applications and its responses, these can be found in the latest Parish Council Meeting Minutes.
Residents can also keep up to date through the Parish Council’s WhatsApp Channel, which provides broadcast-only news and information about planning, local events and other parish matters.
Please note: Taplow Parish Council is consulted on planning matters but does not make the final decision on planning applications. Planning decisions are made by Buckinghamshire Council as the Local Planning Authority.

All drone activity is conducted in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance
